I need external blinds for my west facing windows. Is there something a little more modern than those horrible old canvas type blinds?

Hi Bill,

There are so many more options available to you now. You will never have to look at another old canvas blind again.
It also depends on your budget?!
You have options like external straight drop roller blinds. These blinds are usually concealed and protected in fully enclosed powder coated head boxes. They can run on stainless steel guide wires or aluminium channels.
You can also use external shutters, although these can be a bit difficult to operate or get to if they are not on ground level.
There is a great new product out, which is also the latest design and technology in exterior window furnishings. It is a remote controlled or crank operated 80mm external aluminium venetian. But also one of the most expensive.
So it all depends on your budget and style of house.

I hope that helps you a little, but more so to realise there are plenty more options for you now.

Hello Bill

Carbolite Awnings are an amazing and modern looking awning. Carbolite

The most popular of designs, the contemporary bull nose compliments most Australian houses. The bull nose comes in a set 380mm radii, with both looks and head height restrictions to be taken into account. All sheets are heat formed and curved at CARBOLITE ensuring quality control. The awnings are easily installed on site.

Gutters can be attached using a special folded gutter design to fit on the bullnose. They can be powdercoated to most colours.

Excellent thank you.

Nice product. Do you think cheapa-blinds will sell Carbolite Awnings in the near future?
I have an account with you and would prefer to buy through your website.

If they are indeed shade sails they will have grommets on the corners. If I remember correctly, shade sails are mostly triangular, correct? Well, all you need to do is put a bent nail on a post, hook a grommet to it, the tie a rope through the other two grommets and open it up to the desired angle.
