1. Before Placing an Order

Yes, we supply product samples.  Click here to order samples.  They are charged at $2.00 each (includes postage).  Sample orders are sent using Australia Post and are despatched the business day after you place your sample order.

Sample purchases are fully refunded when you place your order.  This means if you order 3 different samples, the total cost is $6.00.  When you place your order for your blinds you automatically receive a $6.00 discount.

Cheapa-Blinds employ the services of local sheltered workshops to hand cut each product sample. The proceeds of this service are committed to the relevant workshops.

 

Please refer to each product to view Warranty period. If you discover what you believe is a product defect within the warranty period, please contact our Support Centre. 

Cheapa-Blinds will replace the blinds at its own expense (excluding delivery) only after sighting an original receipt to verify that the day the claim is made is within the guarantee period.  The guarantee only covers blinds that have been properly maintained and cleaned.  Please refer to the Care, Cleaning and Maintenance guide for a comprehensive guide to caring for you blinds. 
The guarantee does not cover blinds that have been mistreated or are defective due to poor maintenance or if alterations to the width or drop length of the blinds have been made by persons unauthorised by Cheapa-Blinds.

 

Cheapa-blinds' is an online retail blind store, supplying goods Australia wide by delivery only, direct from our Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Australian Warehouses.  Pick up is not available from warehouses.

We make every reasonable effort to ensure the colours shown on our website accurately match our blinds.  However, there may be some differences in actual colours due to differences in computer systems and monitors.  Some textures may not be clearly visible.Natural products like wood and bamboo have a natural character and may have subtle colour differences.

For a better colour match please order samples. In addition, it is recommended that you order all your blinds of a given colour at the same time as there can be minor variations between dye lots.

2. Ordering

All orders are taken online. First time users overview.  We are unable to accept orders over the phone, email or by fax. We know that your time is important.  Once your decision is made, you want your blinds in your home as soon as possible.  Online ordering is the speediest way to get your blinds from our warehouse to your home. 

By ordering online you can check and amend your order before it is processed.  What you order is exactly what you get without the risk of mix-ups.You can place your online order anytime of the day or night, any day of the week.  You can even text chat online to our customer support team right now using the chat online link at the top right hand side of any page. Any questions can be instantly answered before you proceed. 

You have the option to purchase your blinds at the standard sizes shown or for a minimum cost our professional team will resize the blinds to suit your window measurements.

Buying blinds online from cheapa-blinds is fast and economical. It is important each and every item we send is fully insured and easily tracked. Reputable freight companies are extremely necessary when sending blinds to the customer.

We do not build the freight costs into each product and advertise "FREE FREIGHT" The management of Cheapa-Blinds and the Australian Consumer Affairs regard this as unethical and misleading to the customer.

 

4. Measuring

Measuring your windows is extremely easy and you will find explicit instructions in the Measuring Guide

 

Reveal Fit - Blind fitted on the inside of the Window Frame

The blind will be fitted inside the window opening so that the headrail is not protruding out of the window opening at all. See specific product pages under Specifications for exact depth requirements needed to fit the blind inside the window frame.  Refer to the Measuring Guide.

 

Face Fit Blind fitted on the outside of the Window Frame

A face fit refers to fitting the blind on the architrave around the window whereby the window is fully covered. Refer to the Measuring Guide.

The maximum width of a Ready Made Blind is 2400mm (with one exception being the Cordless Cellular Shades  maximum width 1800mm).  For windows/doors that are wider, an option is that two or more blinds be placed in the window/door.

Please note: This is purely a personal decison and very commonly used application.

A small gap of around 7mm - 10mm between each blind is unavoidable due to the bracketing systems.  Exceptions to this are the Cordless Cellular Shades and the 25mm Aluminium Venetian Blinds where these blinds butt up together as the brackets go along the top of the rail head and not at the ends.

Window measurements from house plans are not recommended. There are many factors to take into consideration when measuring for blinds e.g. reveal or face fit (refer to the Measuring Guide section), depth of window sill, architraves, tiles, door handles etc. You can acquire an estimate price using the measurements from house plans but we recommend measuring each window individually to ensure accuracy.

Another point to take into consideration builders, architects and window manufacturers normally show window sizes drop before width ie: 2100d x 1500w. Blind industry standard works the opposite to builders, you must always remember to record your measurements width before drop ie: 1500w x 2100d when measuring windows for blinds.

 

5. Features Explained

Blind Cord Tilt Mechanism

Operates on a cord pulley system allowing up to 180 degrees rotation of the slats.

 
Self-Locking Cord Mechanism

This component enables the blind to be raised or lowered and locked into any position.

 

Colour co-ordinated means similar colours that best co-ordinates with the product's slat/fabric colour.

 
Venetian Blind Pelmet

This term is used to describe the decorative wood or vinyl pelmet which hides the headbox of a blind.

 
Pelmet Return End

The two "side" pieces of a Pelmet that connect to the front (main) part of the Pelmet. Pelmet returns are only used on outside mounts.

Cleat

A metal or plastic hook placed at the side of the window to hold the cords of a blind.

 
Blind Brackets

Standard brackets for horizontal blinds with a hinged front for easy installation and removal.

 
Venetian Blind Hold Down Clips

Hold Down Clips prevent blinds from swaying. They are recommended for windows subject to wind exposure.

 

Pelmet Clip

The Pelmet Clip is used to attach the Pelmet to the headrail of the Venetian Blind.

 
Pelmet Return Clip

Pelmet Return Clips attach the Return Ends to the Pelmet.  (Pelmet Returns are only used on Face Fit mounts.)

 

 

Screws and Fasteners

Fasteners with a tapered threaded shank and a slotted head.

 

 

 

The hardware at the top of the blind where the tracks and other mechanical parts are located.  

 

The Bottom Rail secures the ladders and cords to the bottom of the blind.

All of the necessary hardware are included with your blinds.

 

All of the products "blinds for sale" are easily installed by yourself, a friend, handyman or persons equipped with a battery drill, screwdrivers etc.

Yes.  However, there are many different types of mounting surfaces into which the blinds could be attached, such as concrete, wood, plaster, steel, etc. The screws provided are predominantly for wood.

If you find that your Cheapa-Blinds order has been incorrectly filled or is defective, please contact us immediately so we can replace the blind at no cost to you. 

Ready made blinds bought from stock may be exchanged if they are returned within 7 days of purchase in the original, unopened and undamaged packaging, in like-new condition and accompanied by a receipt.  Delivery charges apply.  Items that have been customised or resized cannot be returned.

Custom Made blinds are made to fit your window after you place an order.  Each blind is manufactured to your unique measurements and specifications.  For this reason we are only able to accept returns on orders that are incorrectly filled by us or are defective.

Using the TOPD.CCL we can identify the visitor details, visitor's website and visitor contact details. The details will be used to take action against the fraudulent visitor and in most cases if the visitor is a part of any PPC program the click through will be reciprocated using the tracking system TOPD.CCL automated response settings.

 

It is very important that you follow our measuring and installation instructions. When you follow our instructions we guarantee your blinds will fit perfectly! It is equally important that you review your email order confirmation for accuracy. Of course we realise that mistakes may occur and if we make a mistake on your order we will either repair or remake it at no charge to you.

If you make a mistake in measuring or ordering please  contact us. Depending on the type of error you may return the product to the factory for alteration or we will have it remade at a discount.

All products that are made to order, production normally begins the day after an order is placed. Therefore we are happy to change or cancel orders as long as we are contacted within one (1) business day (Monday-Friday) from the date the order was submitted to us. Orders that are changed or cancelled after one business day may incur additional charges.

Ready Made Blinds not requiring resizing will generally be despatched same day of order. Orders cannot be changed once they have been despatched. For more information click on the Terms & Conditions

 

Upon receipt of your order please be sure to inspect boxes carefully and note any immediately observed damage to the driver.

  • Do Not sign for badly damaged cartons or boxes.
  • If you believe the cartons to be damaged but the products inside may be still ok, Ask the driver to give you a written copy of the order with a description of the damage.
  • If items are damaged do not discard boxes! All freight claims must be reported cheapa-blinds.com.au  Customer Service within 2 days of the original delivery date.
